I will try to answer your questions in short form
1 I chose 6 volt golf cart batteries for the small foot
print, high capacity (225Ahr) and cost ($50.00us).
2 There is an Atomic4 service company in Vancouver B.C that
sells the fresh water kit for 800.00cdn approx.
3 Our local Carquest auto sopply house has an attached
machine shop and did the sleaving for $120.00cdn per
cylinder. Also had guides done and head machined all for
less than $2,000.00
4 On my boat there were no nuts on any of the deck bolts
except at the sail track and most were loose from vibration.
I also thought that none slip stainless nylon insert nuts
added to overhaul robustness.
5 John can I leave this until I have some measuements
available.
6 I replaced the chainplates with thicker 1/4" SS and used
the old 3/16" on the other side of each bulkhead to add
clamping surface area.
