Jim,

If you cannot have the current one bronze welded, Edson Marine sells the
tiller cap and strap as a unit. I had to drill and tap the hole that accepts
the centering pin for the cap. But the unit does fit our boats with a little
rework.

Hello all.
 
The bracket that attaches the tiller to the rudder post on my Alberg has
a crack in it. Should I have it welded, if that can be done, or is it
possible to have another one fabricated? Or is there another solution
that I haven't thought of?
