I've had good luck with the weatherstripping sold at auto parts stores
for car door seals. The type I am using has a "D" cross-section, with
self adhesive backing on the flat side. Its a soft rubber material. That
is likely to better than the foam material typically sold for house door
insulation. I don't have a manufacturer or a more technical description.
However, I -do- recall that the first batch of amterial I got was too
thick, which put too much load on the hinges. You may want to buy a few
feet and try it on the sides and front edges if it is available in small
quantities.
BTW, on an unrelated subject, I was able to replace the two
critter-eaten jibs fairly easily, and for less than I thought. Going
through used sail brokers in San Diego and Washington State, I got a
brand-new (surplus) 8.5 Oz. dacron working jib and a "70% condition"
150% genoa of 4.7 Oz. ripstop dacron for about $350.00 each...
