Hi, we are new to A30 Ass. and the onelist. Carole and I  have owned #565
Barchetta  Mia (My Little Boat) for 8 years. Several years ago I rmoved the
mast sep plate and the plate below. The bottom plate was as attached with
bolts threaded directly into the fiberglass. I didn't feel confidnet with that
so drilled and tapped the fiberglass a couple of thread sizes larger and
epoxied in  bronze threaded inserts. I coated the internal threads with wax to
protect them from excess epoxy.
