Last December (1997) we purchased an Alberg 30. When we bought it the
surveyor called it a "project" boat. This was mainly due to the fact
that the previous owner had started to remodel the cabin and never
completed the job! In fact, he had started a lot of things and never
finished them!! I found it really great tonight when I found a place
where I can ask questions and get some answers from other owners,
especially since I seem to have one of the few on Lake Michigan! In
looking at the archive I see that some of my problems have already been
dealt with. We had to have new toe rails first thing before we could
sail over to Michigan from Milwaukee. And we have the 12 volt wiring
redone now and a new rudder was already in place when we got the boat.
That little plug in the bottom of the keel, I wish I had known about it
before we lowered the boat into the water(the strap used to lift the
boat had it covered) and almost sunk it! But it does all seem to be
worthwhile, I love the way it sails and once I get it all refited it
will be great.I look forward to asking your advice in the future!

Thanks,
Tom Parks
