Also George,

Your reply to my trim question brings up another question I have been
wondering about. Have you ever heard of anyone having any problems as a
result of the cast iron keels ? It is my understanding that the keel is
encapsulated in glass and there are no keel bolts. Is this correct ? If so
, how thick is the glass surrounding the keel ?
It seems I remember reading someplace that a problem with some iron
keels is if any integrity of the glass surrounding the keel is lost (a la
grounding on rock or coral) and salt water leaks in causing the cast iron
to rust and swell over time it can be a serious problem. Have you ever know
this to be problem ?
