Dear Paul,

I'm fairly determined to put in a wheel, but I don't want to be
ridiculous. I have several reasons that seem good to me. Are either of
the boats you mentioned where I could look at them before taking the
plunge? I am on Chesapeake Bay in Virginia and it would be worth a trip
to New Jersey or Philadelphia to look at one.

What was involved in the installation? Did it follow the Edson "kit"
diagram with two widely-spaced idlers under the cockpit sole? Any other
things to look at?

I am going to be travelling until the 25th but want to look
carefully at wheels when I get back. I will be in new Brunswick the
weekend of Nov. 15th anyway.

Your ideas for a tilt-wheel pedestal sounds very interesting,
particularly the machine work. The same guys that design Indy cars (my
specialty as an author) ought to be able to help. I have an old book
"ingenious designs" that might cover the topic.

                        Thanks,

                                  Gordon White
