[alberg30] Modifications to older Ice boxes

On my recently acquired Alberg 30 KC150 I have the old style ice box
(exterior cockpit hatch and interior front opening). The exterior hatch has
long been glassed over (and not to bad a job) and I was wondering about
changing the interior front door to a top access.

Any thoughts?
