Usually when there is military action the SA is turned off and you GPS is 
quite accurate.  Could have been buildings blocking the signals or if you 
traveled far from one place to another without the GPS being on.  It would 
then have to find out where it was and this could take some time but a half 
hour does seem quite excessive.
