Janet, Our Alberg is number 158. The shaft is 7/8' x 25&1/2". We replaced
it last year with a stainless steel shaft which was machined by Ocran Boat
shop, Inc for 134.00. Ocran phone number is (804) 435-6305. In addition he
fitted the coupling to the shaft and furnished and installed a new cutless
bearing in the bearing housing plus a new nut and tax. total bill was 271.15.

Before I remove the prop and shaft, can anyone tell me the estimated
length of the shaft on the 1970 year. And the best I can tell it is a
7/8 inch shaft bronz. I am trying to line up parts in case.. Thanks Joel
