All -

As I sit here today in 40 degrees & rain, my mind harkens back to better
times when the weather was warm and the breezes fair. I picture in my
mind's eye the blue sky, the ruffled water, the curve of a sail. And I
remember the question I forgot to ask last summer.

Strayaway Child came with her original, 1967 jib. It appears to have
been barely used (no surprise). It has a reasonably good shape, with
one exception - in order to get the sheet lead correct, you need an 18 -
24" pendant on the tack. Otherwise, the sheet lead is too far aft.
This is true for either the inner or outer tracks.

Is this common? If so, is there a good length to use? I am thinking of
permanently nicro-pressing a piece of stainless wire on the tack, but I
thought I'd ask & see if anyone else has any suggestions.

Thanks a lot.
