Carl, perhaps you are confused about Masonite.  I would gather that it has a
HIGHER resistance to rot.  I believe there used to be some oil involved in the
manufacture.
Even if it does need some refreshening, the A-30 will be a very solid boat.
Engines are re-buildable a lot cheaper than replacement power.
