[alberg30] Oil Pressure

Shawn -

I see a LOT of other Albergers have higher oil pressure than what I suggested,
so I did some quick research. My Universal book is on the boat, but both the
Seacraft & Moyer manuals recommend lower numbers. Seacraft says 35-45 for a
COLD engine at fast idle (1000 rpm). Moyer says 50 psi for a cold engine at
fast idle, 40 with a hot engine at cruising rpm. He also states that minimum
oil pressure for a warm engine should be 1/2 that. All of the above are with
SAE 30 oil.

So, make sure your engine is warm & check the pressure at cruising RPM and idle
before moving anything. I personally would leave it alone with the numbers you
have unless they are a change, or if you have made some other change (new oil
pump, rebuild, etc.) and want to adjust it right to start with.

Any way, the info will go out in tomorrow's mail. Good luck.
