We rerigged Sunstone with entirely new wire and used Norsemans for all
terminals in the new standing rig.  You can call Norseman Marine in Ft
Lauderdale Fla. to confirm but other than making sure the wire terminal,
where it screws in, is tight I would do nothing more.

When originally assembled the terminal cavity should be filled with a
non acidic caulking like Bostic 920 to displace moisture.  Lanolin type
lubricant should be used on the turnbuckle threads and a spare turn
buckle or two on hand incase what happened to you happens again.

You can open the fitting up to have a boo at the condition of the wire
but if the wire is showing signs of corrosion or fatigue, replace it -
period.   The terminals are good for life unless cracked, unlikely, but
you will need a new cone and don't ever be tempted to reuse a cone.  
Cones are about $6 US and Norseman will ship it to Canada if you want,
specify the wire type, likely 1x19 standard 304 SS, Dyform 1x19 316 SS
uses a special cone.

We refitted with Dyform, but it would slaughter a Mylar Sail I think.

If your shrouds are original, 384 would be a '69 and the wire 30 years
old, you should replace it or fit it into your budget soon as too with
the turnbuckles.
