  I love your stories Gordon! 125 schooner? That must have been some job!  I
think the only thing you have NOTdone yet which I want to do is fly a P-51. If
you  have, don't tell me.
  Installing a modern  panel with circuit breakers, and an inverter for shore
power is of course the way to go.  We'll get there eventualy, but I have to
admit there is something about the look of that 1967 Perco panel that I get
nostalgic about. I'll miss it. I think it's the same panel we had on the 35'
1939 S&S 'Weekender' we had when I was a kid. (I can always mount it in my
living room!:)  )
  There is a good article in this issue of Ocean Navigator's special issue
'Sail Away' on  the different qualities of marine wire, if anyone is
interested. It is very technical, but the bottom line is that Ancor, sold by
West, is very high quality, and its insulation, and the tinned copper wire
used, and the flexibility of it, makes it excellent for marine applications.
