The sailor to which you refer is James Baldwin originally from Mt. Clemens,
Michigan (on Lake St.Clair).  He purchased, refurbished and sailed around
the world in a Carl Alberg designed Pearson Triton.  The name of the boat
was "Atom."  An account of his adventure appeared in the November (or
December) 1987 (or was it 1988) issue of Cruising World. The article ended
with his return to Miami Fl. where he was re-fitting "Atom" for another
adsventure.
