Janet, first you pull the prop.  With a puller so you don't damage it.  then
the shaft has to come out.  Then a long rod with a driver on the other end can
extract the bearing, after, of course, you.loosen the two set screws  You may
find the shaft has a lot of wear, and could be replaced.  This is also a great
time to put some new packing in the stuffing box.
Anything you don't do now will come back to bite you.  There may be another
way to do this, I'm sure.     My prop started as a 13/6, and I had a prop
shaft change it to a 13/7 after one year.  They struck out the old marking and
struck the new one.  A prop shop could verify the pitch  Good luck.      Russ
