Paul, when I said I used a flexable coupling, let me explain.  It was a heavy
rubber about 1" thick, with holes. The holes lined up with a flange on the
engine, and flange on the shaft.. ( I can't rebember if it was a keyway, or
two set screws,  that was almost 19 yers ago)  then the two flanges were
bolted in such a way that there was no metal to metal contact, but the flanges
had to be within .030 " of a n exact match.  Russ
