Charles, you can buy tillers in various sizes, curves and lengths.  In the
Detroit area, I go to Thomas Hardware.  Sailboat stuff only.  You can make
one.  Oak works, but if you nick the varnish it can turn dark.  Strong.  I''ve
had two laminated ones de-laminate.  Russ
