[alberg30] Bimini Top

I don't have a bimini, but I can tell you the prices range a lot,
from ~$100 bucks for a department-store ready-made to ~$1200 for
a custom-made with stainless pipes. You'll also see them
mounted in many ways. One that I like is to mount the bows on
a piece of PVC pipe that's been split to fit tightly on the top
edge of the coaming. Then you can move the bimini out of the way
when you need to.
Different boats can have different goosenecks, too. And on most
of them, the gooseneck was originally sliding on a track. I've
put in a bolt to keep mine from sliding all the way down. This
gives more headroom when the sail is down, and I use a cunningham
for luff tension, anyway. You can get the max luff of the main
from the handbook. Looking at the sailplan drawing, it looks
like 31 feet.
