[alberg30] deck painting- Interlux Rocks!

Joe,

I don't have enough of the deck painted, yet, to give feedback on
the brightness. I don't think the off-white will be a problem,
and the Hatteras off-white even less so. In fact, the Hatteras
off-white may be dark enough to be hot to bare feet.

As for non-skid, I've seen articles that talk about taking a mold
off of good areas of non-skid, but I've never known anyone to actually
do it. I think that's in the same realm as fixing deck problems
by injecting epoxy: it sounds good, but doesn't work so well in
practice. My nonskid wasn't in great shape to begin with, so I'm
not too unhappy with going with something else.

I'm real happy with the Interlux 2398 Polymeric Noskid Compound.
I think I may be using a bit more than the recommended 4 oz. per
quart, but I don't measure carefully. I mask the area and put it
on with a roller, mixing the compound with the Brightsides paint,
first. This was recommended to me by Tim Silvio, who did the
work on Tern II. His work looks fantastic! I'm happy with mine.
If I can do this, anyone can.
