I sailed across the Pacific a couple of times on a monitor vane ahich I
considered to be worth every penny of the used $1500 price I paid for it. I
wouldn't go across an ocean without one. Before this monitor I had an RVG
which was a piece of junk. I'm planning a new vane for my A30 #442 "Aliage"
in the spring and so far Yves Gelinas's vane looks the best to me. He has
documented on video that it will stear in less than 5 Kts. of wind;
something my faithfull old monitor would never do. Also the monitor is a
lot heavier. If anyone has heard anything bad about a Yves Gelinas Cap Horn
vane I'd sure like to hear it before I purchase one in the spring.
