Alberg did an updated version, one time, that had a rudder with more area at 
ehe bottom.  Sorta came straight back, before it went up.  If you don't care 
about class profiles it would actuslly work a little better when healed in 
gusts.  The original redders I've seen were wood, perhaps teak. with rods 
driven in from the aft to hold them together.  Mine was glassed over before I 
got it. It's a project, but one that is doable.  Do You have the rudder shaft 
down from the tiller head to attach a new one to?
