I spoke with the previous owner of my A30 regarding winterizing and
anti-freeze.
He owned the boat new from 1965 to 1995. He said that he never used
anti-freeze and only removed the drain plugs and the water pump. The water
pump was removed, I assume to protect the impellers from severe cold. He
said he never had a problem.
The boat has wintered in the Toronto area as well as in Midland, Ontario, so
it has seen some very cold temperatures.
I have followed his instructions for the past 4 years. No problems yet!

I have a question regarding the use of antifreeze. I remove the two plugs,
one on the left side of the block and the other under the exhaust
manifold. I have not run antifreeze into the system, only drained it. I
also remove the plate from the fresh water pump. Should I be concerned
about not running antifreeze in the system. Its known to get 25-30 below
up here.
