Peter,

Last I heard, David & Rene were going to skip going up to England
and head toward Portugal and then the Med.  I think it was a 
decision based on the time of year and lack of time to properly
cruise the colder waters.  I don't know.

As far as beefing up the rigging, the most important issue is
the bolts holding the chainplates.  Either replace the current
1/4" bolts with 5/16", or double the number.  Also, use bolts
that are not threaded in the area where they pass through the
chainplates.  Be sure to check the backstay fitting, also.
