Hey,
Yves Galinas (sp?) had a staysail rigged on his A30 'jean du sud' in the 
video of his circumnavigation.  I thought I had the website here-but I can't 
find it (big surprise) and I lent the video to a friend. Someone on the 
list-please send fred this site, email address.  After watching the video, I 
had a question for Yves about a few modifications he had made before the 
trip, and he was very friendly  and helpful in his email response.
Staysail seems like a very good idea; I guess the most important part of the 
project of adding one to an A30 is the chainplate on the deck for the stay.  
It would have to be secured to the stem, inside of the boat somehow, as 
simply attaching it to the deck would seem to lead to lifting the deck.
