    Alan: toss that wire halyard and the sheave. Put in a new sheave
with a rope halyard. The problem can only get worse - been there - I had
it jump the sheave and jam in 35 knots of wind coming up the Severn when
the old drawbridge was there and opened only twice a day. Nearly lost
the mast before we got an anchor to hold.
