[alberg30] A30 Survey/Holding Tank Installation

We are in the process of joining the A30 family, having made an offer 
on what appears to be #302 ("Sora", 1968) and have scheduled to have 
her surveyed on 03 Aug 00.

1.  We are asking for input on survey items that could be brought up 
to be investigated as part of our survey.  Sora appears to have been 
well maintained, but not having any experience with A30, we thought 
to ask the "Owner expert" group for their thoughts on this matter.  
Any help would be appreciated.

2.  If we buy Sora, we plan to install a rigid type holding tank and 
associated piping system on the head.  We are asking for input on 
products and suggestions on physically locating the tank on board, as 
well as any other pertinent information on installing a Y-type system 
(overboard discharge/holding tank.)  A first pass on products yielded 
a 28 gallon tank that was 19X30X14 inches.  Again, any input on this 
would be greatly appreciated, since we would like to figure this out 
in concept before closing.

Based on our visits to the various A30 web sites and the egroup mail, 
we are favorably impressed with the activity and enthusiasm of the 
A30 group, and are looking forward to joining the group if all goes 
well.
