Peter, I see your number 478 probably has the interior liner -- mine does 
not.  Maybe I can cut a new access hatch in the plywood V-berth base, over 
top of the water tank. But then do I risk damaging the tank underneath?  And 
is there enough clearance between the plywood and the tank for a jigsaw blade 
to cut?  

You might be right about the leak from a full water tank from fasteners at 
the top of the tank.  My boat pitched fore and aft a good deal from prop wash 
while tied up in the marina.  I suppose the motion could have sloshed the 
water over leaky spots at the top of the tank.  When she's on her mooring, 
she lies much more calmly, with little fore-and-aft pitching.  So maybe 
that's the cause.

Does anyone with an older A30 have any suggestions?  Is it possible to cut an 
access hatch above the tank?  If so, how?
