I think polyethelene is pretty hard to work with.  Ask Mike Lehman how
easy it is to weld.  In any event, you'd also want to research the
consequences of that, too.  After all, the fact that beer cans are
lined with epoxy resins doesn't sit well with some people.  I think
I'd rather take a chance with the epoxy over the raw aluminum the can
could have been made with and which the water tank is covered.  I
also take some comfort in the fact that water is a lot less active,
chemically, than the fish and beer that are mentioned in these studies.
