I replaced the rubber pads under my GM with pads cut out of truck rubber mud flaps that I bought at an auto supply store. Just cut them the same size as th old squished pads and drilled holes for the bolts. Seems to be fine.

Marc, the GM had "pads" as well, although I'm not sure if they were anything much more than shimmies. I'll take a look and see what was used in their place and let you know.

Subject: motor mounts
Dear List-Members,
We have finished overhauling our Atomic 4 and are
ready to reinstall the engine. The old engine mount
consists of a metal bracket that rested on top of what
appeared to be a rubber shock absorber. The metal
components is fine but the rubber "pad" is very
deteriorated. Can anyone tell us the correct name for
the rubber "pad" and where we can find new ones?
Thanks in advance.
---Marc
