Cannot find the sign up page for the Chesap. Sailing Assn. for Alberg 30s. Nice web site but is the sign up page in there somewhere or is there an address for mail sign up.

i just removed the grabrails on the port side to reseat them to fix a leak. the interior rail is much stouter than the exterior rail. is this from thirty plus years of sanding/varnishing/wear, or should they be smaller

Mine were half the size of the inside ones also. West M has replacemtns very resonably priced given the current price of teak. (5 loop).

Dick .... Good to hear from you !

I am still interested in this Kubota. I really appreciate your very
generous offer to come down and check out "High Spirits". If you could
give me a night time phone number I would like to give you a call as I
get closer to making this decision.

I am going to try this info you have sent on the p3-20-sm and see what I
can find out.

Al and Dan,

I replaced my exterior grab rails last year. West carries 5 loop grab
rails, but they weren't the same size as the ones on my A30. I ended up
having them custom made in California by a company called H & L. They cost
about $75 each and they did a nice job. I had them made without the bolt
holes drilled because the hole spacing is not uniform and I didn't want to
enlarge the holes in the cabintop. I sent them a sketch that I made in
ClarisWorks on my computer (Mac). I could email you the file if you also
have a Mac or send you a hard copy. I would compare it to your boat before
using it. They may differ.

Regards,
	Bob

Dan:

I have an article for the Mainsheet coming up in which I describe a fix to this situation. My rails were in the same condition as what you described. Basically I put the exterior rails inside and the interior outside. I put decorative ropework around the weaker rails, and then covered the ropework with varnish and then resin. The result is quite stout-and salty and saved the cost of new rails. The exterior rails now look brand new.

Article will be printed soon, there's not much to it, just drawings of ropework and some finished photos.

Good luck;

Subject: steering wheel

Hello All, I am new to the group and if everything goes as I imagine this
week, I will join the ranks of Alberg30 owners.
Question. One of the A30s that I am looking at has an Edson wheel. I'd be
interested in feedback on the pluses and minuses of wheels in general and
their suitability with A30s in particular. Thanks, Peter Goeden, Wheaton, MD
