Yes, access is very hard. All the wheel steerings I have seen have added
an access port in the cockpit sole just forward of the rudder post to
get at the cable. My boat had an 18 x 18" Bomar hatch added over the
engine and it is still hard to get at! (unlike some Albergs the fuel
tanks are in the starboard lockers so are not in the way)
