Chris, my boom vang has metal clamps that fit over the boom, and lock into 
the sail track, a small screw keeps them from going forward.  I use a 4 to 1, 
and it works ok.  Besides, a 5 0r 6 part tackle would use a lot of line.  My 
boom fiting is about over the forward part of the sliding hatch.  It's easier 
to set it up when you are close hauled, so that it holds the sail down when 
you ease it out.
