On Isa Lei (240) I used an electricians fish tape (any hardware store) and
pushed it up from the deck. When it passed the hole I wanted to run the new
wire through, I hooked it out, then put a light nylon messanger on, pulled
the messanger out and used it to pull in the new wire. I would have used a
string with a weight, but some one had put 6 - 8 feet of foam peanuts in the
mast. Pushing the fish tape made it too easy.

> As work progresses on Andante, I have finally gotten to the mast. Sent a
mate aloft today, and found the anchor light had been made from a glass jar,
the steaming light was corroded, and the spreader lights were, .. well
non-repairable. So, off it all came, with the plan to pull new wire with the
old. Ooops, the old wire broke and disintegrated.

install new wire and fixtures. I would appreciate any hints or ideas about
how to fish new wiring without a mast removal.
