HI,
Guys my name is Paul L ,Iv'e been reading the Alberg list for over a year now.
I'm into my third Alberg, two Pearson Albergs and the Whitby i now own.
My hull NO. is 492. Talking about mast support, i also have an aluminum
transverse
mast support. As a precaution last year i took two oak 2x4's bolted and
bunged
them foward of the vee berth bulkhead. If you cut a hole in the vee berth
floor the
beam can be glassed to the hull to take up additional compression load from
the mast. This solution will transfer the load from the bulkhead to the
hull.
Additionaly if you glass in oak wedges at the turn of the bildge this will
stiffen up the floor in the vee berth cabin. I have used this method on the
last
of my two Albergs. If you buy some Quarter round moulding and miter it
around the beam at the floor level it will look very nice. The entire project
took about eight man hours and it works very well.

                     Paul
