Mate - I would not recommend aluminum anywhere in your standing rigging
unless you have fittings made of particularly hard alloys made to the
purpose. Actually, since the aluminum would have to be of quite deep
section to match the strength of Stainless steel, the weight savings would
not be that terrific. However, if you chose titanium....
