Tom,

We mostly use one of those little butane portable one-burner
stoves.  They only cost about $50 or so, and you can get 
the butane cartridges pretty cheaply at a Chinese grocery.
They're only for use at anchor, though, not underway.

I also have a small gimbeled stove made out of an old
Forespar "sea swing" unit.  I deep-sixed the old GAZ
cartridge stove of that and attached a simple propane
camp stove burner.  Forespar has now redesigned this
stove and has it back in production.  It's great for
making coffee or soup while underway.
