[Alberg30] Anchor Rollers

Hi Joe,
It is always preferable to take the load off the roller due to the cantilever factor. If rope, run it through the cocks with some hose as a chafe guard - if chain rode, use a length of nylon twist on a chain hook run through the chocks with about 4 or 5 ft of slack in the chain.
Cheers,
John

Subject: [Alberg30] Anchor Rollers
When using an anchor roller, is it preferable to leave the rode passing
through the roller while at anchor, or to lead it back through the bow chocks
after setting the anchor? I am concerned about chafe from the sides of the
roller (Windline URM-1) although the roller wheel seems like a great chafe
reducing factor. Your thoughts are appreciated.
Thanks,
Joe #286
