Pitch is, imagine you were turning your propeller through a viscous medium
like soft butter - the distance the block of butter would move as the prop
cuts through without cavitation in one full rotation. The pitch measured in
inches - the propeller - would advance 7" in one full rotation.
13" is the diameter - allow 10% tip clearance of the diameter to avoid
crevice corrosion on a 2 blade, 15% on a three blade, from any part of the
hull - though why you would have a 3 blade on a sailboat is beyond me ; )
that should get some comments ; )
