Thanks Gord, George and John for your response.  I must have been tired
when I read Gord's email because I read (heel of the boom??? rather than
heel of the mast).  I made a plate with multiple eyes that goes under
the mast a couple of years ago, the one facing aft will be perfect for
the boom vang.
