As to speaker location, I have to put in my two cents.

Two small outdoor box speakers mounted on the forward horizontal frame of
the dodger.  If you want, you can wire them to be removed for protection
from the elements.

Down below, try mounting box speakers in the forward corners of the salon.
I have a pair of 6x9's I intended to put on the faces under the setees, but
I couldn't bring myself to cut the holes.

OR, you can be like a real sailor and drop way the heck too much money on a
pair of low magnetic field speakers (and probably still mess with your
compass)
