Which reminded me of sailing in that lovely area as a youngster.  There was 
a little island there in Jamaica Bay which was the chief (only?) dump for 
New York City's garbage. Barges brought in the trash every day.  Naturally, 
they also operated a glue factory there with all the raw materials close at 
hand. People lived on the island permanently, sorting all the garbage.  I 
gather that they dumped the horse carcasses into the bay at their harbor. 
That's how it got its name. Presumably, Brian likes the smell of glue.
