[Alberg30] Book Recommendations

I am contemplating rewiring my boat and I'd like to install a shore power
hookup to a battery charger. I don't think I am that interested in DC power
but I'd be open to suggestions, however. I have bought and read a couple of
books on boat electronics (one by Don Casey the other I cannot recall at the
moment). These have been helpful as I am pretty much a neophyte in this
area, but haven't touched directly on what steps I must take to properly
install a good charger driven by shore power. Does anyone have a
recommendation for a book on boat electronics which covers this? Any other
advice to offer?

I am also hoping to someday start performing simple marine diesel
maintenance. The previous owner of my A30 re-powered with a Westerbeke
diesel. I purchased my boat Dec. '99 and after sating my appetite for
"projects" launched only in mid-August '00. I hauled her in mid-October. So
I have only a couple of months of experience looking at the pile of metal
squatting there in the hold. I hope to alter my relationship to that pile,
especially after my first year's experience with yard bills. Can anyone
recommend a good book to start me on this subject? I think I'll start with
recommendations this time and work through that list before launching out on
my own.

Thanks
