Everyone is entitled to an opinion - mine is that a Buckaneer is a terrible 
waste of fiberglass.

Is it a 24 or a 27?
Either way, they are tubby, shortsailed, shortmasted, will not sail to
windward, display a pathetic length to beam ratio and are not very well made
(lined with carpet glued directly to the inside of the hull, cheap 
non-marine
ply whereever they could get away with it, etc.). Had a friend who owned one
before he moved to an Alberg 30.He bought it for the same 
reason:trailerable.
But if you've ever sailed an Alberg, you'll NEVER be happy with one of 
those.
