[Alberg30] Anchor bow roller

Hi gang,
I put a bow roller on #426 as follows:
Bought a stock Ronstan bow roller (wearing a disguise as Ronstan is my competitor) and had a 3/8" thick plate welded to the bottom in order to extend the base about 4". I then drilled a pattern of 1/4" holes into it at places I cleverly chose.
When laid on the starboard side of the bow casting, and parralel with the centre line of the boat, I drilled and tapped six 1/4" holes for my bolts into the bow casting. I made a spacer to go under the plate so that the bolts would have something to snug up against. The job was a success and was well tested in the big blow here a couple of weeks ago.
However - I have to say that I hate the bow plate on our boats. The skene chocks are bolted in with a 1/8" or so "side deck" between the nice smooth rope friendly chock and the outboard edge of the casting. The later has a profile nearly that of a knife edge. I have to move the chocks outboard slightly - not easy since the move is less than a bolt hole diameter... or find a way to grind off the edge in an attractive manner. I've often wondered how the previous owner put up with it so long.
Gord KC426 Surprise (for sale by the way, I'm thinking of going back to wood - yah, I'm a glutton for punishment)

Subject: [Alberg30] Anchor bow roller
The Great Lakes Cruising Club is having their rendezvous in Duluth later this month. As a consequence, we have had several transient boats come through over the last couple of weeks. As a result, I have a question regarding the possible installation of a bow roller for anchor storage and deployment.
An Alberg designed Pearson Renegade had simply mounted a basic roller parallel to the centerline offset enough to allow the clearance for the end of the cleave pin to attach the forestay to the bow fitting(not sure I'm using the correct term). Last night a Cal 31 arrived which appeared to have a replacement head fitting that combine the bow roller and the bow fitting. One side of the bow roller channel was raised an additional inch or two with two or three holes for attaching the forestay.
Two questions. Has anyone just installed a bow roller like the Pearson Renegade? And, does anyone know of a source for a replacement head fitting similar to Cal 31 set up describe above?
