Bill,

I would try a 4" hole saw on a drill, this would give you a nice round cut.

I have never cut aluminum. Is it possible to cut 1/4" aluminum for a backing
plate with a metal cutting blade in a jig saw.
I am mounting a #7 winch on the cabin top and need to cut a 4" circle.
Thanks

Whitby used a very unique way of dating an numbering the boats... using a
stamped number plate placed ust under the companion way. On the stamp will
be a series of numbers and in most circumstances a whitby graphic. The
numbers will be the size (30) the year (67) and the hull number (266). so
it looks like 3067266. THis identifying information should eliminate the
guess work.

Further:
My husband remembers the hull number as 264.
Would 1967 be approximately the year?

Bill Beatty's Alberg 30 Kaila, possibly #266
