[Alberg30] INSURANCE

I also have boat insurance with Allstate (John Aellen in Annapolis), and I 
am very happy with it. Before they would insure Revolution (#526, 1973) they 
required a survey, but I had had one done before buying the boat, so I was 
all set. Allstate only charges $10.00 extra to add $500.00 of towing 
insurance to the policy. They have been very good on claims, and John Aellen 
is a sailor, so he understands our needs.

I have Allstate, and they have been great. Not sure they are insuring boats
anymore, but worth checking. Periodically, every insurance company, will
insist on an "insurance" survey. It's been 10 years since my last one, but I
am kinda expecting a call, some day, to say I need another. Surveys are also
required a change of ownership, for insurance purposes.

I have my home and cars with Nationwide and they had no problem insuring
SallyB #441  1970. Boat US was too expensive and West Marine would not
insure a vessel over 30 years old.
