Gord,

Don't forget that Whitby shortened the rig, too, to switch from the
original 7/8ths design to a masthead rig after the molds were made.
This is probably a significant component.  Have you ever been on an
A30 without a mast?  It makes you feel like a little old lady in
a Cadillac with bad rear springs.  You can hardly see over the hood.
