Randy,

Either product will do the job. 316 will leach less rust and is a little
stronger than 304,

Subject: [Alberg30] Stainless Steel?

Hi, Guys,
Im needing to find/make a new tang for my jib halyard. The present one
of stainless steel has a hole that's nearly "ripped out." My question-- is
304-grade adequate for this application? I've heard of 316-- is that a
preferred grade for this use?

Any info about this much appreciated!
    Thanks,
